The new destination marketing office will connect regional customers with ADM’s global supply chain and portfolio of feed ingredients and animal nutrition products.

KENYA – Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) has opened a destination marketing office in Nairobi to strengthen its presence in East Africa and improve regional customers’ access to its global supply chain network.
The office will serve as a regional hub for food ingredients, feedstuffs and animal nutrition products, positioning Kenya as a gateway to wider East African markets.
The company said the move would bring its operations closer to customers while linking regional demand with global supply networks.
Its activities will include market insights, local merchandising, and storage and distribution services. These will connect local demand with ADM’s global origination, transportation, logistics and risk management capabilities.
Patrick Heijbroek, vice president of Global Trade and head of origination, EMEA, said East Africa’s population of more than 500 million people and growing demand for food and feed ingredients made it an important market for the company.
“We’re excited to strengthen our presence in a region that is seeing significant growth across the agricultural and livestock sectors. Through our global network of destination marketing locations, we can connect regional demand with ADM’s global origination network,” Heijbroek said.
ADM expands its African operations
The Nairobi office builds on more than a decade of ADM’s presence in Kenya and complements the company’s other investments across Africa.
These include human nutrition innovation laboratories in Nairobi, a distribution hub in Nigeria’s Lagos Free Zone and expanded flavour creation capabilities in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Erdal Kurban, president of Africa and the Middle East and vice president of Sales, EMEA Flavours, said the new office would help the company respond more closely to customer needs across the continent.
“By being closer to customers, we can better understand local market dynamics, respond faster to evolving needs, and connect customers with ADM’s global capabilities,” Kurban said.
ADM reported that its destination marketing activities reached approximately 31 million metric tonnes in 2025, reflecting the scale of its network in connecting agricultural supply with demand across key markets.
The expansion strengthens ADM’s regional presence in food and feed supply chains, including distributing animal nutrition products to customers across East Africa.
