Drools introduces a plant-based gravy for dogs in India, targeting vegetarian households and the growing demand for more varied pet food options.

INDIA – Drools Pet Food, one of India’s leading pet food brands, has launched Drools 100% Veg Gravy, a plant-based wet food for dogs that offers a vegetarian feeding option and adds moisture and variety to regular meals.
Available in 120 g packs, the product can be served as a complementary food or mixed with dry kibble.
Its formulation combines soya, wheat gluten, pea protein, and hydrolysed vegetable protein, along with rice flour, refined soya oil, and added vitamins and minerals.
The launch targets Indian pet owners seeking vegetarian options for their dogs, reflecting household and cultural dietary preferences as the country’s pet food market expands.
India’s pet population grew from 28.4 million in 2020 to 39.2 million in 2025, according to figures cited in the launch announcement. Dog food accounted for 70% of pet food retail sales by value in 2025.
Drools 100% Veg Gravy contains at least 10% crude protein and 6% crude fat, with moisture capped at 82.5%.
The added vitamins and minerals include vitamin B12, which is not naturally present in unfortified plant ingredients, along with vitamins A, D3, E and C, and a mineral premix.
Dr Shashank Sinha, CEO of Drools Pet Food Pvt. Ltd., said the product aims to give pet owners more feeding choices while making meals more appealing through its gravy texture, aroma and moisture content.
The company recommends introducing the product gradually and following pack feeding directions.
Because the product is positioned as a complementary food, pet owners should ensure their dogs receive a nutritionally complete, balanced diet appropriate to their life stage and individual needs.
The launch adds to product diversification in India’s pet food sector, where manufacturers are responding to changing consumer preferences with different ingredients and feeding formats.
